My Story # 9 All Power To The Church
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you" Luke 10:19
We were leading a small home group in the early days of our life together. Ron and I are young, in our 20's. He is working as an accountant and I am doing some Sub work at the schools in our Charleston-Metro region. We are on the brink of the American Dream. We are also hungry for the purposes of God in our life as well as those hangin' with us at our home. We were willing to go outside the box of the safety of the church to the "All Power To The Church" and explore what it really meant to proclaim the gospel: healing the sick, casting out demons, and setting the oppressed free. We knew so many young men and women desperate for freedom. They were believers but were tormented by additions, lifelong habits, sickness, witchcraft,(those encounters are coming up) curses (yes I said curses) not being able to break through these strong walls of pain to freedom.
In this quest we ran across an interesting book somewhere called "Pigs in a Parlor, A Practical Guide to Deliverance." -Be Warned! This book looked pretty good but the application of the inside set off a fire storm. We introduced the book to our local Christian Bookstore and it took off in sales.
As for us, we didn't have any idea that we were about to get on the Kingda Ka.
